Online Diet Pills-FDA Issues Warning About Imports

The Food and Drug Administration issued a warning in late December 2008 advising the public to stay away from specific products if you are looking to buy online diet pills.

Some of these pills are reported to have banned or prescription drugs in their formulas but these items are normally not listed on the ingredients list.  Many consumers use the web to buy online diet pills and the demand continues to grow but it’s important to buy from reputable and established manufacturers.

“These tainted weight loss products pose a great risk to public health because they contain undeclared ingredients and, in some cases, contain prescription drugs in amounts that greatly exceed their maximum recommended dosages,” said Janet Woodcock, M.D., director, Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, FDA. “Consumers have no way of knowing that these products contain powerful drugs that could cause serious health consequences. Therefore FDA is taking this action to protect the health of the American public.”
